It is said in the origin of the name of the Palace of Budaih many views, some of them say that it is related to the name of the names of God, "Bdai", and some say that it is due to one of the wives of Sultan Al-Mansour, but the word "Palace Albdai" in the Moroccan dialect means "Palace Porcelain "; this is due to the frequent decoration of the walls that decorated the palace with full glaze.

The Badiya Palace has a large central square, with a large water pool coming from a fountain in the middle. On the sides there are two gardens filled with trees and flowers and other smaller water basins. There are two square wings that also rise in the middle of the square, but only one remains They were covered with a dome, with twelve large columns, very similar to the two pillars that raise the dome of the Grand Hall of the Saadian Tombs in Marrakech.
